Generation: 30 S/tick
The thermal generator generates energy when at least four of the eight blocks surrounding it in a 3x3 area at the same height are lava source blocks. It will very slowly consume the lava.
Generation: 80 S/tick. One coal = 42.56 MJ
The fuel generator uses furnace fuels to generate energy. The time to consume an item is proportional (k = 1/3) with how much fuel the item gives in a furnace. Higher tiers produce more energy and consume fuel at a faster rate.
Generation: 4 - 24 S/tick
The solar panel generates energy during the day time while it has a line of sight to the sky. Due to the negligible maitenance of this power source it produces much less than other power sources. It comes in four tiers, from standard to neptunium.
Inputs: 3 items
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The alloyer is used to produce alloys such as brass, bronze, vysterium, endalum, neptunium, electrum. It has support for common alloys from other mods. Alloyer recipes are shapeless, so the ingredients can be placed in any order.
Example: 3 copper + 1 tin --> 4 bronze
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The crusher, well, crushes items. The most common use of this is to crush various ores into 2 dust each, which can then be smelted into one ingot each to double the ingot yield. However, it also provides more efficient ways of getting crushed substances like blaze powder.
Example: 1 iron ore --> 2 iron dust
Inputs: None
Outputs: Water
Description: The hydrator passively collects water through the power of osmosis! When a hydrator is surrounded with 8 water blocks at the same height as it (same as the thermal generator), it will quickly fill up with water and produce a near limitless supply.
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The powered furnace smelts items just like a furnace, but its powered by energy rather than fuel! Used to ease automation.
Example: 1 raw porkchop --> 1 cooked porkchop
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 2 items
Description: The sawmill provides a much more effecient way of getting planks from logs, with each log producing 6 planks. It additionally has a secondary output slot for sawdust collection, which can be used to make paper.
Example: 1 oak log --> 6 oak planks + 1 sawdust
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 1 fluid
Description: The liquifier melts solids into their liquid form. For example, ingots can be melted down into their molten form, and ores can be melted down to be processed in a distiller (Hint: ore tripling!)
Example: 1 iron ingot --> 1/9 bucket molten iron
Inputs: 1 fluid
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The foundry acts as the opposite of the liquifier, casting molten metal into ingots.
Example: 1/9 bucket molten invar --> 1 invar ingot
Inputs: 1 fluid, water
Outputs: 1 fluid
Description: The distiller purifies raw metal fluids, obtained by melting down ores, into their pure molten form. This is the essential component of ore tripling, and can be done in conjunction with a liquifier and foundry.
Example: 2/3 buckets raw copper + 1/2 bucket water --> 1/3 bucket molten copper
Inputs: Liquid experience, enchantable item
Outputs: Enchanted item
Description: The enchanter uses liquid experience and infuses an item with it to provide a random high level enchant. It can imbue treasure enchantments like mending on an item at random.
Example: 3/5 buckets liquid experience (150 points) + unenchanted bow --> randomly enchanted bow
Inputs: Enchanted item, book
Outputs: 1 item, enchanted book
Description: The disenchanter takes a book and an enchanted item, and uses a specialized process to remove one random enchantment from the item and place it on the book. At the time of this writing, due to a bug this does not work with enchanted books.
Example: Sharpness 3 Unbreaking 3 diamond sword + book -> Sharpness 3 diamond sword + Unbreaking 3 enchanted book
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The pressurizer applies a ton of pressure to the input to modify the item. Although its use in mechanix is very limited, it can be used to convert resources in various other mods into their plate forms.
Example: 1 diamond --> compressed diamond
Inputs: 1 item
Outputs: 4 items
Description: The centrifuge spins the input at varying speeds to separate the input item into its components. Has a bunch of interesting recipes! Great for separating alloys into their components again.
Example: 1 magma cream --> 1 slimeball + 1 blaze powder
Inputs: 2 items, water
Outputs: 2 items
Description: The hydroponator acts as a growth chamber to simulate a farm. It requires the item to grow and the fertilizer, which for all default recipes is bonemeal in various quantities. Some recipes have secondary outputs, like saplings from growing trees.
Example: 1/2 bucket water + 1 bamboo + 2 bonemeal --> 3 bamboo
Inputs: 9 items, target item
Outputs: 1 item
Description: The crafter is Mechanix's autocrafter. The bottom right slot is used to specify the target item to craft, i.e. a chest or iron pickaxe. Then items can be automatically piped or manually placed in the 9 input slots. The slots don't have to match, so 3 iron in slot 1 and 2 sticks in slot 2 is sufficient to start crafting.
Description: The item collector is mechanix's item vaccuum / long range hopper block. It will automatically suck all items in a 3 block radius of it into its 9 slots. You can also set a filter to determine which items should be collected in the GUI by right clicking the block.
Description: The quarry mines a 2x2 chunk region centered on the quarry, from its placed y-level down to bedrock. For optimal time efficiency its better to place this at a lower y-level. Additionally, its 20 slots get filled quickly, so make sure to hook it to an external inventory of some kind. It will only mine as long as it has a pickaxe placed in the leftmost slot, and the pickaxe will determine what items drop as the blocks are mined. Use tools with high durability to maximize mining time.
Description: The experience bank is a specialized fluid tank for storing experience. Through its GUI you can deposit or extract your experience to and from the tank, which caps out at 32,000 experience / 101 levels.
